Brent Bowyer is a co-owner and partner at ADAM. He faced divorce head-on for the first time when his parents divorced when he was only 8 years old. As a child, he didn’t understand the impact a divorce would have on his life. His father, a lawyer and an alcoholic, was gone, and his older sister no longer lived in the same house. It felt like everyone was leaving, and the people closest to him had failed him. He understands now that divorce can feel this way for his clients. There is an overwhelming sense of confusion, lack of direction, and lack of trust for the adults as well as the children involved.

In his spare time, Brent enjoys traveling to northern Michigan and spending time with his awesome wife, two daughters and his dog, Buddy. Brent is a lousy golfer but loves being outdoors and the camaraderie of the sport. He likes to play guitar and enjoys simple things like driving his Jeep Wrangler. Brent jokes that the world would be a better place if everyone waved at each other as Jeep owners do. Brent also loves snorkeling in the Caribbean and boating on lakes—two hobbies that don’t always mix well with his propensity for motion sickness! Brent has a B.B.A. from Western Michigan University and a law degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. His life’s work is helping men through divorce and family law issues and finds making clients happy is one of the most rewarding aspects of his job.
